The Cost of Arkansas Rice Farming

cost of arkansas rice farming

Each year, row crop farmers must balance their costs of production while forecasting the prices they’ll likely receive for their grain. A large percentage of their costs are related to land, fertilizer and equipment, but there are many other expenses that go into producing a high-yielding crop. This graph shares many of the costs that Arkansas farmers experience, on a per acre basis, for one of the state’s crops – rice.

*Does not include land costs, which vary greatly by region.
