Just in time for Independence Day cookouts, the American Farm Bureau Federation has released the results of its annual Fourth of July Cookout Price Survey. Based on price data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and observances collected from volunteer shoppers across the country, the survey analyzes the costs of basic menu items needed to prepare a traditional Independence Day cookout.

According to the 2025 survey, U.S. consumers will nearly the same as they did last year for a 10-person menu consisting of popular cookout foods, including burgers, pork chops, chicken breasts, potato chips, potato salad, lemonade, strawberries and ice cream, among others. The price of this year’s meal is down just 30 cents from last year’s record-high.
