Broiled Maple Crunch Grapefruit

Fresh grapefruit gets a sweet addition with a maple crunch.

Ingredients

  • 3 ruby red grapefruit, halved
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • ⅓ cup maple syrup, plus 3 tablespoons
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup walnuts, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Slice grapefruit to loosen each segment. Whisk together butter, ⅓ cup syrup, cinnamon and walnuts.
  3. Place grapefruit halves on a baking sheet. Spoon topping onto grapefruit halves, distributing equally. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until very soft and lightly browned on top. Remove from baking dish and serve with additional syrup while warm.
