Caprese Meatball Kabobs

Caprese Meatball Kabobs make a delicious appetizer for summertime get-togethers. Starring fresh basil and sweet cherry tomatoes, this recipe can go from garden to table in about 45 minutes.

Ingredients

Meatballs:

  • 16 ounces bulk Italian sausage
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon fennel seeds

Skewers:

  • 8 medium or 16 small skewers
  • 16 small mozzarella balls
  • 16 cherry tomatoes
  • 32 basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 
  2. In a large bowl, combine all meatball ingredients. Stir until completely combined, then roll mixture into 16 meatballs.
  3. In a shallow baking pan, cook meatballs for 25 to 35 minutes, or until completely cooked and centers are no longer pink. Set aside to cool.
  4. Thread all skewer ingredients and meatballs alternately onto 8 medium or 16 small skewers. Serve at room temperature.

  1. Um, why do we preheat the oven? Doesn’t appear that it’s used in this recipe. 🤷‍♀️
