Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1  tablespoon honey Dijon mustard
  • 2  tablespoon fresh or freeze-dried chives, minced
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 12 3-inch brioche or pretzel rolls, sliced
  • 12 pieces thinly sliced smoked gouda cheese, cut in half
  • 8 ounces smoked turkey, thinly sliced
  • 1⁄4 cup apple butter
  • 8 ounces thick-sliced peppered applewood bacon, cooked and broken into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 small Granny Smith apples
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine melted butter, honey Dijon mustard, 1 tablespoon minced chives, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder. Lightly brush the inside of slider tops and bottoms (brioche or pretzel rolls) with the butter mixture. Set tops aside.
  2. Arrange bottom half of sliders buttered side up in a 9-by-13-inch baking pan lined with nonstick foil and brushed lightly with the butter mixture. Push the bottoms close together so the sides are almost touching, leaving any extra space at the end of the pan.
  3. Layer slider bottoms with one half slice of gouda. Arrange turkey evenly over gouda. Microwave apple butter for 30 seconds, then drizzle over turkey. Crisscross 2 pieces of bacon over apple butter.
  4. Core the apple, slice into thin rings and layer on top of bacon. Top with remaining gouda. Place slider tops over gouda.
  5. Stir poppyseeds and remaining 1 tablespoon minced chives into the butter mixture and brush butter mixture evenly over slider tops. Let sit for 10 minutes to allow butter mixture to soak in.
  6. Cover pan with nonstick foil and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until cheese melts. Remove foil and bake an additional 2 minutes to lightly brown tops. Serve hot.
