Ingredients
- ½ cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
- ⅓ cup bourbon
- ⅓ cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1 ½ pounds beef flank steak
Instructions
- In a large, zip-close bag, combine the soy sauce, bourbon, brown sugar, mustard and hot sauce. Seal bag and shake to combine the ingredients and dissolve the sugar. Add the flank steak to the bag and marinate for 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat grill to medium. When grill is ready, remove steak from marinade, reserving the marinade to make the sauce. Place steak on the hot grate and grill undisturbed for 3 minutes to sear grill marks. Flip 45 degrees and cook 2 minutes longer. Flip and repeat the grilling process until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees for a medium doneness. Remove from grill and let rest 10 minutes before carving.
- Meanwhile, pour the marinade into a small saucepan and boil over medium-high heat until thickened, about 3 minutes.
- To serve, slice the flank steak thinly across the grain and drizzle with the sauce.
