Grilled Pear and Oat Crisp

Ingredients
- 6 Bosc pears (about 2 pounds) peeled, cored and quartered
- ¼ cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar, divided
- ¾ teaspoon salt, divided
- Zest of 1 lemon
- ½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¾ teaspoon baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon cinnamon
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium-high. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Place quartered pears on the grill and sear until golden and caramelized, about 1 minute per side.
- Place grilled pears in a medium bowl. Add ¼ cup sugar, ¼ teaspoon salt and lemon zest and toss to combine. Pour mixture into a pie dish. Set aside.
- In the same bowl, combine the melted butter, flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and remaining ½ teaspoon salt. Mix well to combine.
- Sprinkle the oat crumble mixture over the pear mixture. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon sugar over the crumble. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream on top, if desired.
