Ingredients
Peppermint Mocha Syrup:
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons peppermint extract
Peppermint Mocha:
- 3 tablespoons peppermint mocha syrup
- 2 ounces espresso, hot
- 1 cup milk, warm or steamed
Optional Toppings:
- Whipped cream
- Crushed peppermint candies
Instructions
- To make the syrup: In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the milk, cocoa powder, sugar and peppermint extract. Whisk until combined and sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- To make the mocha: Add 3 tablespoons Peppermint Mocha Syrup to a mug and top with hot espresso. Stir to combine. Pour in the warm or steamed milk and top with whipped cream and crushed candies, if desired.
Tips & Notes
Note: If you don’t have espresso, you can substitute about 4 to 6 ounces of strong coffee.
