GO TEXAN Partner Greener Pastures Chicken Raises Poultry Regeneratively
In partnership with: Texas Department of Agriculture

The average American consumes more than 100 pounds of chicken annually. Thanks to the pasture-to-plate practices of Greener Pastures Chicken, Texans can enjoy superior, locally raised poultry.
The farm and processing plant in Elgin was founded by agricultural enthusiasts Cameron Molberg and Von Miller, who is also an NFL linebacker. Operating since 2018, Greener Pastures Chicken is at the forefront of regenerative farming methods. Their pasture-raised poultry enjoy open skies, sunshine and fresh grassland every day.

“Our farm believes that regenerative and organic standards should be and can be intertwined,” says Diego DiVerde, director
of sales at Greener Pastures Chicken.

Four years into his work on the farm, DiVerde describes the daily relocation as a “labor of love” accomplished through a mobile chicken coop process.
“The rotation system is kind of like a sled pulled via tractor, about 100 feet, so the birds constantly get fresh grass,” he says.
By rotating the flock across lush fields, Greener Pastures Chicken naturally fertilizes the land, improves soil health and promotes biodiversity. This practice benefits the chickens, the environment and consumers craving palate-pleasing protein.

In compliance with their numerous certifications, including Certified Humane, Regenerative Organic Certified, The Non-GMO Project Certified, Real Organic Project and U.S. Department of Agriculture Certified Organic, they forgo the use of antibiotics and non-organic feed produced with synthetic pesticides or GMOs.
They strive to reduce the farm’s environmental footprint while delivering a delicious, nutritious poultry product.

“Our chicken has 17 times the level of antioxidants as your typical commodity chicken, because a large portion of our birds’ diet naturally comes from eating grass and bugs,” DiVerde says. “Consumers attest that Greener Pastures Chicken has finer color, texture and, most importantly, flavor.”
Thus, the final product is prized by chefs and home cooks alike.
“We’re processing 20,000 birds a week, and our goal is to expand to 50,000 birds a week by year’s end,” DiVerde explains.
In the past decade, U.S. organic retail sales increased by an average of 8%, according to the USDA Economic Research Service.
