2. Dairy Products & Milk

$4.2 billion in cash receipts

As of Jan. 1, 2024, Texas had an inventory of 635,000 dairy cattle that produced more than 16.5 billion pounds of milk in 2023. That’s equivalent to more than 25,800 pounds of milk per cow. The Lone Star State ranks No. 4 in the nation for number of dairy cows.
