Bacon

The side portion or belly of the pig is cured and smoked until it becomes bacon. It may come pre-sliced or in a slab with a rind of fat that should be cut before slicing.

Pan-fry: Strips of bacon can be placed in an ungreased frying pan over medium heat and flipped occasionally until uniformly crisp.

Microwave: Slices may be placed on a microwavable rack or plate and covered loosely with a paper towel. Microwave on high for 6 to 8 minutes.
