Easy Peppermint Fudge

Fudge is a Christmas classic, but if the thought of making it from scratch intimidates you, try our no-fuss Easy Peppermint Fudge. This decadent cream cheese-based recipe comes together in about 10 minutes – no candy thermometer required.

Ingredients

  • Butter, for greasing baking dish
  • 8 ounces (1 package) cream cheese
  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon pure peppermint extract
  • 2-3 candy canes, crushed

Instructions

  1. Butter the sides and bottom of an 8-inch square baking dish. Set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the cream cheese and chocolate chips. Microwave on high for 2 minutes, stopping to stir after the first minute, until mixture is completely melted and smooth. Continue microwaving on high in 30-second increments if needed to fully melt the mixture.
  3. Stir in the peppermint extract. The mixture will separate slightly at this stage but will become very smooth after it cools.
  4. Using a spatula, scoop mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly. Sprinkle the crushed candy canes evenly over the top.
  5. Chill fudge in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or until set. Cut into 16 large fudge squares or smaller squares as desired before serving.
