Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Sliders

Ingredients
Pulled Pork Sliders:
- 4 pounds pork shoulder, bone in
- ½ cup Memphis-style barbecue seasoning
- 48 slider buns
Barbecue Sauce:
- 1½ cups brown sugar
- 2 cups ketchup
- ½ cup red wine vinegar
- ½ cup water
- 2 ½ tablespoons dry mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ teaspoons black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Instructions
- Generously coat the entire pork shoulder with the seasoning rub. Place pork in a slow cooker with the fatty side down. Cook on low heat for 6 ½ hours.
- Meanwhile, prepare the sauce. In a food processor or blender, combine all sauce ingredients and blend until smooth. To intensify the flavor, pour sauce into a medium pot, bring to a boil over medium heat and cook for 1 minute. Allow sauce to cool, then store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
- An hour before serving, remove the pork shoulder from the slow cooker, flip it over and remove the fatty layer and bone. Drain and discard most of the juices. Place the pork back into the slow cooker and shred. Cook on low heat for another 30 minutes.
- Serve the pulled pork on slider buns topped with homemade barbecue sauce.
Tips & Notes
Like a tangier sauce? Cut back on the brown sugar to make it less sweet.
