Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (optional)
  • 8 slider buns
  • Optional toppings: Lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, mustard

Instructions

  1. Divide beef into 16 equal portions. Shape 8 portions into patties about ½ inch thick, then use thumb to press a shallow indentation into each. Shape remaining 8 portions into patties about ¼ inch thick.
  2. Spoon about 1 tablespoon cheese into each indentation. Place the ¼-inch patties on top and firmly pinch the edges to seal the cheese in the middle. Season both sides with salt and pepper, if desired.
  3. Heat grill to medium and grill burgers, covered, for 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium to medium-well doneness.
  4. Remove burgers from grill and place on slider buns. Serve with desired toppings.

Tips & Notes

Make the sliders the night before and store in the refrigerator until ready to grill.
