Creamy white chocolate and cool peppermint make the perfect pair in a mug of White Peppermint Hot Chocolate. Add an extra touch of seasonal cheer with a dollop of homemade peppermint whipped cream and crushed peppermints sprinkled over the top.

Ingredients
Whipped Cream Topping:
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1-2 drops peppermint extract
Hot Chocolate:
- ½ cup white chocolate chips
- 2 ½ cups milk, divided
- 1 pinch salt
- 1-2 drops peppermint extract
- Candy canes, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- For whipped cream: In a large bowl, use a hand or stand mixer to beat cream on high speed until soft peaks form. Add sugar and peppermint extract and beat again stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- For hot chocolate: In a small saucepan, combine the white chocolate chips with ½ cup milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. Once chocolate is completely melted, stir in the remaining 1 ½ cups milk, salt and peppermint extract. Continue cooking over medium heat until warm.
- Pour hot chocolate into 2 mugs. Top each serving with a dollop of whipped cream and garnish with crushed or whole candy canes, if desired.
Tips & Notes
This recipe yields more whipped cream than needed. Save the extra in the fridge for your next batch of hot chocolate.
