Ingredients
- 6 vanilla beans
- 1 cup vodka
Other Supplies:
- 1 8-ounce bottle or jar with a tight-fitting lid
- Ribbon or string for gifting, optional
Instructions
- Cut each vanilla bean in half lengthwise, then cut to the correct height to fit inside your bottle or jar.
- Place the cut vanilla beans in the bottle or jar you plan to use for gifting and cover with vodka. Add more vodka if needed to cover vanilla beans completely.
- Seal tightly with lid, then shake to combine. Decorate bottle or jar with string or ribbon for gifting, if desired.
- Store in a cool, dark place for at least 2 months. The vanilla flavor will get stronger over time. Shake the jar about once a week and before using. If you make the vanilla extract less than two months before gifting, simply write the date the vanilla will be ready to use on the label.
